FELIPE GUARDERAS - Founder

I was born and raised in a country full of different people, and surrounded by nature. Its landscape provides the setting for the practice of many different kinds of sports. From beautiful beaches, rainforests and high peaks that touch the sky, Ecuador has it all.

I have always been more attracted to the mountains and the adventures that surround them. Since my early days; thanks to my father, I have had the chance to travel all over Ecuador and reach secret corners of the country and its summits. This inspired me to keep looking for different adventures, to discover new places, and enjoy various types of climbing such as ice climbing, big walls, sport climbing, etc.

At the age of sixteen I made my first expedition to Peru, where I saw beautiful mountains, many of which had never been climbed. This is when I realized, that there are unlimited adventures in this world for everybody.

I enjoy and climb different stiles. I´ve reached a level of V9 boulder, 5.13 and I´m comfortable in all types of terrains. Even if I climb at that level, I consider very important to mix my abilities with the best education possible when it comes to guiding. I am a PCGI (Professional Climbing Guide Institute) multi-pitch certified guide and on my way to become a mentor for the school.

After many years of exploring, traveling and discovering, I realized that I wanted to share these adventures and experiences with anybody who has a will and a desire to discover. Someone that enjoys and respect nature as much as I do. Someone that is ready for adventure!

ROBERTO MORALES - Founder

I hail from Bogota – Colombia, where I was born in 1989. As a kid, I quickly overcame Legos, video games and TV and started looking outside. The surroundings of my parents house in suburbia soon became places to play, tree-climb, hike, bike, etc. and camping nearby would “top the cake” for this outdoors lad, maybe 5 or 6 at that time.

Soccer and golf were some of my “civilized” activities. In 2001 my family moved to Ecuador where my grandparents on my mother’s side lived in a large Spanish patio-style house in the outskirts of Quito, overlooking south on the famous “Volcano Alley”. I had been there before on vacations and it sure didn’t seem like much of a thrill. However, what looked like a bucolic view of the Pasochoa, Cotopaxi, Iliniza North and South, Corazón and many more extinct and active volcanos, soon became the theater of my first rock climbs and mountaineering activities as a whole. In January 2004 I reached the iced summit of Cotopaxi (19,800 + feet) and from then on I have participated and/or led several expeditions all along the Andes north to south, Colombia, Ecuador, Perú, Bolivia and Argentina, from Ritacubas in Colombia to Cerro Torre and Fitz Roy in Patagonia. Rocky Mountains from Yosemite to North Cascades have been the other scenario for what I consider my “ passion, profession, motivation and life”. I can’t imagine a life without climbing.

I am a NOLS Instructor (National Outdoor Leadership School), I have an international first aid certification (Wilderness First Responder), I am a Socorro Andino Boliviano and Socorro Alpino Valdostano high mountain rescuer, and I am also an Aspirant IFMGA Guide (International Federation of Mountain Guides Associations).
